Today, we're going to talk about everybody's four-minute mile.

Everybody's probably heard of this story about Roger Bannister breaking the four-minute

mile.

This took place in the mid-1950s, and at the time, what's amazing about this, they never

thought this could be done.

They thought your heart would explode or something.

You basically died before you do it.

Then they said, if somehow you did pull this amazing feed off, if you somehow ran this

amazing race, you'd need perfect conditions.

They said perfect, 68 degrees, breeze at your back, perfectly dry, running conditions,

you'd need this huge crowd to motivate you beyond anything that you could imagine.

And maybe, obviously your heart would explode, but if you did that, you might be able to

Well, Roger Bannister, 1954, broke the legendary four-minute mile, doing it in three minutes

and 59 seconds, and what's funny is after he did that, 24 people in the next year broke

even more amazing in 2012, a high school student broke it by seven seconds.
