The 2026 NFL draft is now over. On this episode, we're going to talk about what the Jets did on day three.

In the late rounds, they made some upside plays. We'll get to that in a little bit. But first,

let's talk about what they did in the fourth round.

And the expression, it was the best of times, it was the worst of times comes to mind for me.

The Jets began things at pick 103. It was the third pick of the day. And they selected defensive

tackle Darrell Jackson Jr. out of Florida State. I like this pick. Now, day three

draft success stories come in all shapes and

sizes. But sometimes the picks that go well are the ones where you're not trying to hit the

home run, where you're just trying to fill a role. Because round four is a great spot to find

players who do just that. I don't think Darl Jackson Jr. is a starter for the Jets.

I don't think he's ever really going to be a full-time player in this league, but he's got a valuable

skill set. And guys like that can stick around, and guys like that can add a lot of value for

your team. Jackson is a guy who holds the point of attack well.

He can play the run. And for a defensive tackle, that's enough to add plenty of value.

I really like the way the Jets are building the middle of this defense at the tackle spot.

Jackson joins Drouan Briggs and Harrison Phillips and David Omeata and Devandre Sweat.

This is a group that's pretty solid on paper. And I don't know that the Jets are really going to

need Jackson to play more than 10 to 15 snaps a game. He'll come in when someone needs a rest.

And you just want those snaps to be quality snaps.

You don't want them to be a weakness. You don't want the other team to see that your backups are in and be able to run all over them. I think the Jets got a guy who stands a chance

to be an immediate contributor. And that's pretty good for pick 103. I really like this selection.
