That's right we're lucky to be joined by Miguel Murielis from the Stanley Rother Shrine

the executive director and we're going to get into this inspiring man's story, his martyrdom, and much more.

We've been talking about Blessed Stanley Rother.

I have friends that took pilgrimages down to Guatemala

years ago. So he's been on a lot of people's hearts and mind. all Blessed, Stanley Rother. You know, for a show that has a lot of male spirituality like ours,

Miguel, what would you say about Stanley Rother,

you know, that people might not know.

Let's get a little bit into his

backstory right because even though he's potentially going to be the first

American-born male saint I think very few people even within the church have ever even heard of him let alone know his story.

Yeah, so you know what what's unique about Blessed Stanley is that he was just an ordinary guy, you know, a lot of folks call him the ordinary martyr.

Growing up in a small German Catholic community just west of Oklahoma City, you know, on a farm. Just the king of tinkering, you know, he

liked to work on engines, worked on the farm, you know, the animals was in 4-H and just your typical kind of farm kid growing up here in

Oklahoma but definitely had a calling, a understanding that the Lord was speaking to him,

and really devoted his thoughts in mind

to possibly becoming a priest and going in the seminary.

One thing to do that a lot of folks don't know is that his sister, who is a sister, was

also contemplating joining an order at the same time. They never spoke to each other about it.

They were both at the same time really

discerning a calling to ministry. So it's pretty unique for that family and
