Summary

Sir Tony Blair, Labour's most successful leader, has given a bleak assessment of the party's future.

He has said the party must focus on policy not politics, and occupy the "radical centre".

The Tories have pledged to lift a so-called ban on the installation of aircon systems in new homes - regulations they introduced in 2021 - in a bid to "make Britain cool again".

The Royal National Lifeboat Institution has warned of the "very real risk" of swimming in open water in response to the deaths of five young people across the UK.

Russia has been "relentlessly targeting" critical infrastructure and democracy in the UK and across Europe, according to the head of the intelligence agency GCHQ.

The Lebanese health ministry has said at least 31 people, including several children, have been killed in the latest Israeli strikes on the southern and eastern parts of the country.

And finally, the race to build a base on the moon is well and truly under way between China and the US.

NASA has unveiled its plans as it aims to get Americans back on the moon before US President Donald Trump leaves office in 2029.

Sophy and Wilf have the day's news in just 10 minutes.
