to celebrate the release of one of the most anticipated sequels of all time. Here's the timeline. In 1968, famed science fiction writer Philip

K Dick published Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. In 1981, Ridley Scott was hired to direct the film version, which was eventually titled Blade Runner.

Blade Runner was released in 1982. It was not a commercial success.

It did, however, develop a cult following that seemed to grow more dedicated every year.

Rumors began to fly around that there was another better version of the film. In 1991, Warner Brothers released the director's cut, which completely changed our understanding of Blade Runner.

But still it wasn't over. In 2007, the final cut was released on Blu-ray as the definitive

version. Rumors of a sequel had been flying around Hollywood for almost 20 years

and it finally went into production in July of 2016. Then in early 2017 three men

Access Hollywood Scott Mance, John the Outlaw Roca and a little known directing instructor from Los Angeles, California,

got together to create the ultimate exploration into the world of Blade Runner.
