Carr in this upcoming discussion on Black August. But I want to take some time for those of you

who aren't familiar with Dr. Gray

Carr and you're not familiar with in class with Carr and you're not familiar with narrative

and now Nubia. I want to take a minute to kind of explain if you enjoy this conversation

that we're having about Black August and the Soledad Brothers and George Jackson, then I'm going to invite you to come into a space we created during the pandemic.

It is called narrative, which is the largest Africana Studies classroom in the world.

It was born during the pandemic when I asked Dr. Graycar if I could press record on the discussion we were having about Ida B. Wells.

And what it has grown to is a community of people who are committed to reading and talking about and thinking about liberation through the lens of Africana studies and Africana ways of knowing.

And this discussion we had because Dr. Graycar, I asked him about this book, you know, blood in my eye, and I had downloaded it and I was reading it.

And I said, what can we have a discussion about it?
