The Great Walter Smith shares with us what it was like trying to keep Gaza on the straight and narrow during his very productive spell at Rangers when Walter aged a century.

I started to say well you know we've got to find something to bring an extra spark to us so you

look around then all of a sudden I read in a newspaper at Gascoons Leaving Latsie on.

I had met him on holiday the year before in Florida and so I just bumped into him. Yeah even the same I tell. So I had

met him and he didn't know who I was but but I mean, that's Paul. But anyway, I had my two boys with it, so it

ain't obviously knew who he was. And like everybody else, when it was wondering about a beach, they'd start to play football

with the kids and he'd get any of them.

So I thought he would bring a much needed spark to her and sure enough.

When I sat down the chairman I said look you know I've got opportunity here I said

gas go in back why don't we?

I know. When you look at it now and you look at the premise ship now.

But at then, Rangers Celtic could still compete.

And that, it was just after the middle 90s it started to go away from us in terms of finance

but we could still compete. The chairman got in touch with President at Latshil and you know, we would be interested in saying

Paul Gasco in.

He said, fine, okay, there's a number of English clubs

want. We're going to transfer them at the end of season you know so
