Hi, friends, and welcome to a bite-sized fish episode. It's been a while since your girl has done a bite-sized

0:06.6

bish. And again, all of these podcasts are brought to you by Brady. So thank you, Brady, for your service.

0:15.1

Right now, I just wanted to give you guys some updates about what's been going on. I've been posting a little bit

0:21.9

on social media and of course on Patreon, letting everybody know. But I've just had a lot going on.

0:27.0

So number one, I wanted to share with folks that I made the announcement last week that I was going to be

0:33.0

doing more podcasts. And the day that I made that announcement, I had to make the difficult decision to put

0:40.2

my grandfather into hospice. For those of you who don't know or don't remember six months ago,

0:45.7

my grandmother, I had to put her into hospice. So my grandparents, I am their power of attorney,

0:51.9

their caretaker. They are, we're in assisted living,

0:56.0

like nursing home. It's like a, it's skilled nursing, ish. But when she died, my grandfather just

1:03.4

started to decompensate faster than I could keep up with. And I'm going to be mindful how much

1:08.7

I discuss it because he cannot consent to me sharing some things and, and all of that. And I'm going to be mindful how much I discuss it because he cannot consent to me sharing

1:12.6

some things and all of that. And so I want to be respectful. But just it's been a very, very

1:19.0

emotionally, physically challenging and exhausting week. With my grandmother, she was mentally capable

1:26.2

until the very end. And she was able to agree to

1:30.2

things, and she didn't fight me. But unfortunately, my grandfather is dealing with dementia. And because

1:36.5

of that, he is just not who he used to be. And that's not his fault, but it is presenting a lot of issues. And so I have literally

1:46.6

been scheduling evaluation after evaluation, getting service after service. There is not one service

1:53.1

that he doesn't have that's available, but sometimes it just still feels like I'm failing and

1:59.7

it's not enough. And so what started to happen

2:02.3

is I was having panic attacks, some of actually the worst that I've had in my adult life. And

2:09.8

when I talk to my therapist about it, literally, you know, she always knows what to say and how to say it.
