The Supreme Court is listening to oral arguments over President Donald Trump's plan

to end birthright citizenship for all but a handful of individuals.

A win for Trump would let him enforce a policy that a lower court described as blatantly unconstitutional.

But the main question the justices are being asked to look at isn't whether it's constitutional,

but instead, whether lower courts have the power to stop Trump's policy through nationwide injunctions.

Here's Justice Sonia Sotomayor questioning Solicitor General D. John Sauer. As far as I see it, this order violates four Supreme Court precedents.

Sauer has been facing tough questions around how long it would take to issue a ruling to protect

people from an illegal presidential policy if courts weren't allowed to issue nationwide

injunctions.

But Chief Justice John Roberts stepped in with the example of this year's TikTok ban to show the high court cannot quickly when needed.

President Donald Trump has suggested a nuclear agreement between the U.S. and Iran could be on the horizon.

Speaking in Qatar, Trump said that negotiators are, quote, getting very close to maybe doing

a deal.

Iran has sort of agreed to the terms.

They're not going to make, I call it in a friendly way, nuclear dust.

We're not going to be making any nuclear dust in Iran. CNN has requested a comment from Iran's mission to the UN.
