If your connection to God and your connection to family are not your top priorities in life,

everything else becomes an endless rat race, endless attempts at fulfillment. As one mentor of mine

told me, you know, the business will eat you alive and you'll constantly be coming back for more.

And if you don't set your priorities straight, namely God is number one, family, spouse, children,

your community and the like, as number two, help, as number three, and wealth and business at the bottom of the totem pole,

You'll be, you know, that old washed up, you know, divorced, you know, unhealthy,

as you alluded to joy being in the bones, often cancer-stricken or heart disease-stricken,

really tended to those things in your own life. And I was on that path. I mean, I nearly got

divorced. I was a horrible husband. I was an unpresent father. I was successful on paper, but not

really at home. And so I began to focus on my connection to God, my spiritual walk. My morning workouts

became spiritual instead of physical as the first thing I do in terms of morning devotions

and prayer, a habit that lives on with me to this day. My connection to my family, through family

devotion and family huddles and family traditions and fully present family dinners

and family games and, you know, connection to my wife and my kids in a much more present

and aware and systematic way. All of that became priority. And really at that point, the fruits of

fulfillment began to pour forth into my life in terms of me actually feeling as though

any amount of wealth or health or worldly success becoming something that didn't just leave me

feeling even more empty at the end of the day. And look, I know that's a lot. I know we just talked

about like the content of like 40 self-improvement books in three minutes.
