This week is May 25th through the 31st, and we are studying the Book of Judges.

In the Book of Jud judges, we will study

chapters 2 through 4, 6 through 8, and 13 through 16. Okay, as the Israelites settle in in the

promised land and they start to establish themselves, they are also about to face the highs and

lows that come from their righteousness and pride. The generation

that had this firsthand experience with Joshua and defeating Jericho and all these miracles

and inheriting the promised land, they were starting to die out, leaving Israelites to face a more rebellious period of their history,

these Israelites that are born in Canaan.

Canaan was home now.

This is where they had established where they're at.

Right before Joshua died, he tried to remind them of

all their covenants and all the miracles that the Lord had given to them, but then Joshua died.

And here we are now in the Book of Judges. The Book of Judges follows basically what us Book

of Mormon readers would call a pride cycle that the Israelites fall into. It's about 200 years following Joshua's death. So this 200 year

period we're going to breeze through right now in the book of judges. Judges, though, can be kind of a

misleading term because when we think of judges, we think of someone judging other people and

sitting at a bench with like civil
