Smith and Kelly Black. Hey friend, it's Kristen. Grab your scriptures and let's dive into Judges 7

versus 20 through 21. Now, the Israelites weren't in the promised land long before they were put in

bondage to the Midianites for seven years. God called Gideon

to lead the Israelites into battle against the Midianites, so Gideon gathered an army of 32,000 men. However,

because God knew the hearts of the Israelites so well, he also knew they would take the credit

if they won this battle with 32,000 men. Through a series of

tests and trials, the Lord eventually whittled down Gideon's army to a mere 300 men. Following the

Lord's commands, Gideon handed each of his men a trumpet, an empty jar, and a torch. He divided

the 300 men into three companies and had them surround the Midianites

camp. Then on Gideon signal, quote, the three companies blew the trumpets and break the pitchers and held

the lamps in their left hands and the trumpets in their right hands to blow with all. And they cried,

The sword of the Lord and of Gideon, and they stood every man in his

place round about the camp, and all the host ran and cried and fled. An army of 300 beat a numberless

multitude because they listened to God, even when it didn't make perfect sense. Though God's

commandments might not be clear to us,

he is always, always right.

So the takeaway of the day in five words or less is,

God is always, always right.
