| 0:39.7 | focused on the fall and the events immediately afterward. So last week we left off with Adam and |
| 0:48.0 | Eve after their creation, after they're being placed in the Garden of Eden. And this week we're going to read about Eve and Adam partaking of the forbidden fruit |
| 1:00.5 | that they were asked to not partake of and then being cast out of the garden. |

| 1:14.9 | They worship God. They teach their children about God. |
| 1:22.5 | And then we'll learn about how one of their sons, Kane, kills one of their other sons, Abel. |

| 1:52.9 | Now, we are reading from Genesis and Moses this week. And I think this week is probably the best example of the benefit of having the Book of Moses in addition to Genesis. |
| 2:01.7 | Remember that the Book of Moses is modern revelation. It comes from Joseph Smith's translation of the Bible. And it gives us just extra information about this beginning part of Genesis. For example, if you were only reading |

| 2:14.3 | it would kind of seem like God is giving extreme punishment to Cain just for making the wrong |
| 2:24.6 | offering. He makes an offering of fruit. And it just seems like, whoa, God is being a little harsh here |
