I used to think global ministry was better than local ministry

in some ways that serving Jesus big was the only truly significant way to do it. But I'll go

ahead and tell you, I was wrong. And I don't think like that anymore. Let's go.

I'm going to tell you a story that I'm almost a little embarrassed to tell you, but I think it's really important to share it with you for the context of this show.

Let me first tell you a little bit of backstory.

When I was starting out in ministry, I was, first of all, pretty reluctant to really even get into it.

I started out accidentally.

It wasn't really a goal or a dream of mine

to write books or speak or do podcasts. Most certainly do podcasts because those were not even a thing

at the time. I wanted to be an interior designer. In fact, little known fact, right before I led a Bible study in my church

that wound up becoming what was my first book that I co-authored with my mother, I had actually

filled out paperwork to enroll in the Art Institute of Charlotte, I was going to

go back to school to be an interior decorator. That's what I wanted to do at the time. But God,

obviously, intervened, changed my course, he had other plans. Now, he didn't reveal to me at the time
