Welcome back. We're here with trainer as Jonathan Lee after stage five of single track six,

0:04.0

longest stage today. How'd it go, John?

0:07.1

It was good. It was longest and it didn't have the most climbing, but I think it's going

0:11.5

to catch a lot and it did catch a lot of folks by surprise. I kind of had this. I wasn't

0:16.8

even thinking about this stage. And then once I started to analyze the profile, I was like,

0:19.9

oh, it's actually going to be quite hard. And yesterday, when you and I spoke, I was like,

0:23.7

I'm just going to go hard and that's going to be my strategy. But there was a really hard

0:27.2

climb at the end. So I was a bit nervous about the go hard strategy, but you know, through caution

0:33.9

to the wind and did go hard in the beginning. It was like three loops and it was about 28 miles

0:40.2

and climbed like 4,100 feet, I think. And I own the Bragg Creek area. And the first loop was like

0:47.6

really roly climbing and not a whole lot of sustained. And I think that that blew a lot of people

0:53.9

up, the hard punches. And then after that, the second loop was a lot of sustained climbing.

0:58.8

And then the third loop was a steep sustained, but shorter climb. And the descending was

1:04.5

surprisingly tricky. I didn't think that it was going to be difficult, but lots of like blind

1:10.8

turns and the easy to blow off the course and lots of roots and lots of rocks and everything

1:15.1

else. You had to stay on your toes. But this again, stature is the my best looking objectively

1:20.5

like my performance. And I haven't uploaded my ride file yet. But it was the best one. I started off

1:26.5

like the first 15 minutes, maybe close to 20 minutes at 318, NP, which is higher than anything I've

1:33.5

done so far in the race. So I'm satisfied with that with stage five, you know, being deeper into

1:38.0

the race. And then, but it definitely was, you know, that put me in a bit of a hole, but at the same

1:45.2

time, I still managed it well throughout the race. And I think it was the best stage yet. And in

1:48.6

terms of placement, it was to I finished eighth on the stage. So still ninth in GC. And I don't
