Hello and welcome to the 530 Politics Podcast.

I'm Galen Druke, where we can half into the Biden presidency and the administration's

first focus has been on the coronavirus pandemic.

Biden has signed a number of executive orders on the crisis and is pushing a nearly $2 trillion

bill to address its health and economic consequences.

So today we're going to be joined by Anna Maria Berry-Jester, who is covering the government's

response to COVID-19 to talk about just that.

How substantially different Biden's approach to the pandemic is, compared with Trump's,

also look at some of the decisions being made on the state levels, about schools, vaccinations,

and overall lockdowns.

But first, it's also been three and a half weeks since pro-Trump extremists attacked the

Capitol.

While it seemed like some leaders in the Republican Party, perhaps most notably Mitch McConnell,

had had it with Trump after January 6th, Republicans are mostly falling back in line with Trump.

So we're going to talk about why that might be, and here with me, to do that are editor-in-chief
