It's also the day after Biden's first address to a joint session of Congress.

Because of technicalities, it wasn't considered a state of the Union address,

but for all intents and purposes, that's what it was.

He focused on his three big spending plans, the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan,

which has already become law, and then the more than $2 trillion American Jobs Plan,

and the $1.8 trillion American Families Plan, which he hopes to get through Congress.

He framed them as an investment in the middle and working class and described the US as a global competition with China.

Senator from South Carolina, Tim Scott, gave the Republican rebuttal. He criticized Democrats for keeping schools closed for too long during the pandemic,

and accused Democrats of stoking racial divisions in how they talk about racism in America.

Today, we're going to take a look at Biden's first 100 days in office, and review both what he, Biden, and Scott had to say in last night's speeches.
