We come today to the closing verses of Hebrews chapter number 11 and really to the bottom line. We

come to better things. You see, the book of Hebrews is the book

of better things. That's the theme. Christ is better than all and Christ makes everything better that

he touches. And so, faith, this is very important, does not bring us simply to these men and women

of faith. It brings us to these men and women of faith.

It brings us to Christ the object of their faith.

We pick up in Hebrews 11, verse 35, women receive their dead, raised a life again.

And others were tortured, not accepting deliverance that they might obtain a better resurrection.

And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings,

yea, moreover, of bonds and imprisonment.

I've marked in my Bible in verse 35 and verse 36 the word others.

Have you ever thought about the others?

The others who are not named, the others who are not known.

They're known only by God,

they're anonymous on earth, the blood of the martyrs is the seat of the church. Think about those who've given their very life to carry on the gospel of Jesus Christ to get us the

truth so we could have the word. Thank God for those people. Think of the others.
