Here, abroad, by the sea, on the

trails and through the cities. I'm Jenny Falconer and I love running. I particularly love the fact

it allows the freedom to explore new areas, cities, paths, resorts and countries. I've said it

before, I often book holidays based on places I really want to run.

So for instance, recently we went on a family holiday to Washington, D.C. Most people go Washington,

D.C. Why do you go there? The answer is brilliant for running. Fact. There is something very

special about exploring new, historic or simply beautiful locations whilst

running. And if you haven't tried it, you are missing out, believe me. It's one of the joys

of running, visiting somewhere new, exploring maybe at the crack of dawn before anyone's

out and about. It gives you the chance to judge the place for yourself. You get more acquainted

with your surroundings

through running. So quite frankly, is there a better way to get to know a new destination?

My running adventures have taken me, I don't know, to so many places around the world. Australia,

East and West Coast, exploring Hong Kong harbour at dawn. I burnt my face outrunning in Cape Town. Yep,

didn't put SPF on. Big mistake. I was chased by monkeys outrunning in Malaysia. I even tried

running in Manouse in Brazil. However, as I left the hotel, the security came and told me to get back in,

not safe. And so I had to run on a treadmill, which was nothing compared to the treadmill in the gym, in the Maldives, quite frankly, the best view ever. All you see is see.
