I have listened to lots of experts over the years and one of my favorites has been Gavin

DeBecker, who is in the special protection business. He actually wrote a book called

The Gift of Fear. Now, when I saw this book title, this is the first time we've ever seen

the word fear printed with the word gift because we don't think of fear as a gift to us.

But he talks in his book about many stories of people. If they used their intuition, that

little gut feeling, that thing that says, hmm, something's off here, which is, we've

talked about that before, it's just a little whisper at first. Something's not right.

When you use that, it can make you safer in the world. One of the stories I never forgot

is actually the first story that Gavin DeBecker speaks of in his book, Gift of Fear. It's

about Kelly. We've all been in this situation where you want to be nice, you don't want

to make the other person feel that you are rude and women especially do this at our own

risk.

And the gift of fear, you start out the book talking about Kelly, who came to you to talk

about what she had done wrong when she was raped. But as you talked her through it,

she realized that she already saw all the signs herself. Can we talk about Kelly?

Sure. She came to me and told the story of a three hour rapor deal she'd had. She was

coming home from shopping. She had a bag full of groceries and she got to the door to
