1:08.1	The Southern Florida Coastal City has a longstanding reputation for beach vacations,
1:13.9	partying and excess. From the 1950s through the 1970s, the Novak family made their fortune
1:21.3	by running the most opulent hotel in all of Miami Beach. When the Fountain Blue opened
1:27.6	in 1954, it was South Florida's largest and most luxurious oceanfront property. The hotel quickly
1:36.0	became a popular vacation spot for the rich and famous, welcoming stars like Frank Sinatra,
1:42.3	Judy Garland and Elvis Presley. It's also been featured in various Hollywood productions,
1:48.7	including Scarface and the Bodyguard. With its expansive neo-broke architecture,
1:55.1	the Fountain Blue Miami Beach was iconic in its heyday. One of its most prominent features
2:01.8	is a floating staircase, also known as the staircase to nowhere that leads to a small cloak room.
2:09.1	In Hollywood's Golden Age, guests would make their grand entrance by descending the hotel's iconic
2:15.0	staircase. Today, it remains an acclaimed modern luxury resort with a variety of high-end restaurants.
2:23.2	The Novak case also takes us to Fort Lauderdale, another coastal city in Florida,
2:29.2	located about 30 miles north of Miami. While both Fort Lauderdale and Miami Beach have been
2:36.3	popular destinations, Miami Beach has always been viewed as the place for serious partiers.
