Summary

#32: In today's episode, I am catching up with a a dear friend of mine, Belen Soloman. Belen is the founder behind her own clothing brand - Belen. Belen truly makes some of the most comfortable clothing I have ever worn like her Cindy top and they are the type of pieces you want to wear daily. In this episode Belen shares her journey starting her own clothing brand, why it is so important to support small businesses, what makes her brand stand out and she shares her tips on what every woman should own in their closet. This episode is a bit different than my others in that it sounds like Belen and I are catching up on our weekly phone call and we recorded it. She is such a fun person to be around and I cannot wait for you guys to hear this episode and more on her family of squirrels she lives with (.. I am serious!).   Thank you Garden of Life for sponsoring this episode and moderating the panel. I am so grateful to partner with such a supportive and amazing brand. Garden of Life makes all organic and non-GMO vitamins, supplements, protein powders, CBD and more. You may recognize their coconut oils and flaxseeds from my blog recipes and book recipes. But I also use their vitamins and probiotics daily. I link to all of my favorites over on my shop page, which is the best place to order from to support this podcast.   For more from me, I'm over @rachLmansfield and rachLmansfield.com

I think back in like January, February-ish, and by Met, I mean, like, virtually. And it's because I ordered some of

0:22.2

her tops from her website after hearing such amazing things about her brand. And I wanted to try it out

0:27.6

for myself. And I was opening the package, like, all excited to wear these new tops. And I guess

0:32.8

she must have recognized my name or something. And she threw in a couple of extra shirts and I was so confused.

0:38.6

And I found like the sweetest note in there from Berlin herself who did recognize my name from

0:43.2

my order. And I was so grateful. I just so excited. It was the sweetest gesture. And I sent her,

0:48.8

thank you. And ever since then, we started talking. And after that, we really started chatting more

0:53.6

and more on Instagram,

0:54.3

and I pretty much am obsessed with her. I love following her over on Instagram. She loves food

0:59.5

as much as I do, and you will hear a lot about that in the episode. She also has pet squirrels,

1:04.0

which is the randomest thing in the entire world. But her and her husband have such a passion

1:08.8

for animals, and she'll talk more about that.

1:11.8

But they sounds like they live on this like dream safari in California.

1:16.5

And it's like my dream to take as we're there because you guys know how much he loves animals too.

1:21.1

Now this episode with Berlin is a bit different than the usual podcast episode you guys

1:25.0

may be used to on here.

1:26.3

It was almost like Berlinin and I were just

1:27.7

catching off on the phone, like saying, hey, what's up? What's happening? And the conversation

1:32.1

happened to be recorded. She fills us in on starting her company, why her clothing stands out

1:37.4

from others. The importance of supporting local businesses, which you'll hear in the episode,
