But first, I wanted to tell you a little bit about what we hope to do with this podcast,

which will run in addition to our flagship Wednesday pod, the Josh Marshall podcast.

So the thing I like best about working at TPM is the intellectual curiosity,

the interest in not covering politics like sports or a game, but interrogating how our underlying

systems manifest in our politics and what narratives then grow out of those.

We really like ideas, contextualizing what's happening.

But the reality is we're very, very small.

We currently have four reporters and three editors on staff.

By virtue of the fact that we want to know what we cover really well,

the better to find new angles and explanations, it limits the breath of subjects we can cover.

We don't want to parachute into a situation we don't know much about, where we can't add value
