It made me happy to hear all those announcements, all these things that the IMC is doing,

and I'll echo what Hillary said about happy Father's Day for those of you who are fathers

or for those of you who have fathers.

And the solstice is coming, all kinds of good stuff here in the summer.

So for those of you who don't know, I'm Diana Clarke, as Martha said there at the beginning,

and it's a delight to be here with you all.

Some of you may know that I teach on Monday nights, so here I am on a Sunday morning instead of a Monday night.

But today I'd like to share a little bit about a Suta, my story specifically that's in a Suta.

And maybe I'll start by saying, Gil and I taught the Suta study course for,

ended up being almost two years, it just ended.

And a theme that we kept on pointing back to in so many different ways,

a theme was the importance of direct experience.

What is happening right now, this moment?

As opposed to our ideas about it, as opposed to some philosophy, as opposed to some mystical or metaphysical ideas,

just this encouragement to come back, what's actually happening in this moment?

It was quite something to see just how this showed up in the Suta's in so many different ways.

And I would say that a big part of practice is learning to make this distinction.

You might think, well that's obvious, I know what I'm thinking and I know when I'm sensing,

but it turns out this can be even more and more subtle, the way that our concepts, our notions, our ideas, our beliefs, our views,

are a little bit different than what's actually happening in this moment.
