For this week of our summer vacation, we went to camp, and to the old city. First, we bring you a dispatch from a day of Beautifully jewish Day camp from earlier this month Then, Liel took a tour of Jerusalem’s Armenian quarter with the Father Koryoun Baghdasarian, Chancellor of the Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem and Dean of the Armenian Theological Seminary of Jerusalem, to get insight into the least examined part of the Old city.

A couple of weeks ago tablet hosted the first

Camp beautifully Jewish retreat at Shari Ticfah Synagogue in Scarsdale, New York.

That's right, I said camp. We were inspired by the camp days of childhood. I

attended eight summers at Jewish sleepway camp and wanted this day to capture the same

sense of connection, fun, and Jewish pride. We did a bunch of beautifully

Jewish activities and it was amazing to come together after so many months of grief, fear, and war. It was a day of discussion, a day of crafting, and ultimately a day of Jewish

joy. Of course we were recording the day as well, so for those of you who weren't able to make it to the retreat, we wanted to bring you a version of it in

audio. Our day got started with decorating beautifully Jewish tote bags and true to the

camp spirit of the day everybody signed each other's bags but before we

really got into the Jewish joy, we had to address the

I really think it's important to root ourselves in this moment, right? Why is it so important for us to come together to pick up our crafts, to use our voices for good in this moment, and so that everything we do later today can sort of help us not just
