For this week's tip, I want to talk about sleeping bags.

What do we do with our sleeping bags after a trip?

Whether it's one night, one week, one month, we need to take care of our sleeping bags.

We get in and out of them constantly throughout the duration of our trips.

As I said, one night or a couple of nights or a couple of weeks.

But what do we do to keep them clean and to keep them from getting moldy?

From the moisture builds up in there.

Well, here's what I do.

Whether I arrive home after a one night trip or I arrive at a hostel or a hotel

after several days or a week, the first thing I do is I take the sleeping bag out.

Yes, it's the first thing I take out of my backpack.

I remove it from the compression sack, turn it inside out, stretch it out, and I let it dry.

If I'm at a hostel or a hotel, I make it the last thing I pack before I leave, because

I want to make sure it's dry.

I shake it out and get all the grit and dirt that I've dragged into it.

While I was hiking, while I was on my trip, I do all that to maintain it.
