stuff. He's widely regarded as the nation's top note buyer. He has purchased more than 50,000

notes and help pioneer modern strategies for building wealth through discounted mortgage notes.

So without further ado, Eddie Speed, welcome to the show.

How are you? I'm doing great. And I'm guessing that you changed your last name because if you

bought 50,000 notes, you need to be doing it with some speed. So is that a made up name?

It's a real name. You know, it's funny. I've done a fair amount of speaking. People say, Eddie Speed, is that really your name? And I'm like, it's really my name. It's a good name. Yeah. So anyway, I got, I got lucky there, right? I mean, 50,000 notes. I mean, how do you, we're lucky to do, you know, a couple deals a year. How do you,

how do you get to 50,000 notes? Let's go back to the first note you did. I mean, let's go back

to how you got into this and like the actual very first one. I stumbled into it when I started.

I was 20 years old. So obviously I wasn't very seasoned and didn't have a lot of money or experience.

The guy that later became my father-in-law introduced me to the business.

He was a, he was a fireman.

And so he was kind of the millionaire next door, had, you know, trailer parks, had apartments, had rental houses, had rehab, bought foreclosures,

all of that, right? And so this was in 1980. And I'd just gotten out of a school for ranch
