You're listening to the battle ready Bible study. We are starting week two, day one,

0:05.4

Deuteronomy 24. For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you,

0:10.7

against your enemies, to give you victory. Well, you picked a very, I think, intense passage.

0:17.4

And I have to say, in my first 10 years of being a follower of Jesus, I loved these

0:21.9

kinds of verses because everything felt like a fight. Everything felt like a battle. And sometimes

0:29.4

the battles were internal, sometimes. They were external. And to be really honest, sometimes

0:34.3

it felt like they were against people. You it felt like um the moment i tried to

that the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies and give you

1:26.9

victory. It's so, I think, empowering to know that God is on

1:32.0

our side. Now, the challenging thing is that you don't want to make this promise of you against

1:39.8

other people. And because in the end, the enemy is not another person. The enemies that work against us

1:48.6

are the forces of darkness, are the forces of evil, and the kingdom of darkness. And we war not

1:55.3

against people, but for people, but sometimes, let's be honest, that battle is fought in the context

2:00.8

of one person against
