All right, Brian, take us home here today on the Irish Breakdown podcast, brought to you by our friends over at Bandoul. We're going to talk about, we're going to kind of widen the scope. You know, we've talked about Notre Dame. We've talked about Notre Dame recruiting, offensive star power. But now we're going to kind of broaden the scope a little bit and talk big picture college football. What do I mean by big picture? I mean overarching view.

This isn't about a specific team. This is more so about the state of college football and we're

diving into this TV deal conversation that's really the SEC and the Big Ten versus everybody

else and everybody's kind of putting in their opinions or providing different solutions.

And so what we're going to do is we're going to provide a high level overview of just what the overall debate is. You know, what's the argument for the current state? What's the argument for pooling some of these resources together? And then we're going to kind of wrap it all up with what our overall thoughts are. so brian i'll kick this over to you because I'm sure you're going to be able to do a much better job of explaining this whole thing than what I'm going to be able to do. I'm hoping you can do some of that as well. But what we're basically kind of we're at sort of a, I believe it's appropriate to say this. I think we're at an inflection point in college football.

And a lot of things are going to need to happen over the next couple of years.

Otherwise, the sport's going to suffer greatly.

And it's encompassing in a lot of areas, the transfer portal.

Our players, employees are not, you know, this crazy conference realignment, the Codd's full

all playoff expansion, the Big Ten SEC trying to dominate the sport, you know, TV deals, TV

rights, player rights, there's so many things, rev sharing, there's so many things that are

in front of college football that if they don't step up to the plate,

we're going to have some issues. The encouraging thing is at least in this debate.

In a lot of the other debates, there's no leadership, there's no voice that I see that I'm like,

yes, let's follow that guy. I was like, make Nick Sabin,

the commissioner of college, why? What, what things is he advocating for that would somehow fix the game?

What's the hard stances he's been willing to take? You know, like, he'll say something here and there,

but like, I need to see a lot more for him before I'm ready to just like pump up Nick Saban as the commissioner of college football.

And what's he the commissioner of?

What entity, what organization?

Like I'm trying to say, who are the people having real discussions about what we need to do?
