Today we're back with Dan and we're talking about what he's calling conscious economics

and basically this is just understanding that you don't necessarily have to pay for everything that you get in your life.

You can barter your skill sets, you can barter the produce that you have, there's a lot of different ways that you can operate in this

capitalistic system that we live in. So definitely not a knock on capitalism at all.

It's plenty of perfect uses for it. However, there are ways to be a bit more

flexible in the way that you engage in commerce. So I think it's a really interesting episode.

We talk about some cool unique scenarios that have happened to us so I really

hope you guys enjoy it let's go ahead and get into it we've talked a little bit about that with the

bartering the mixing in I guess you could say of bartering with normal economic transactions but I'm

curious what you have to say about what you mean by conscious economics.

Well I think that you know a lot of people have talked about capitalism and you know so much of our

capitalism is is by its nature extractive you know what I mean and again if we're

only concerned with the output, right?

And we're not looking at, you know,

it's other effects on, as we talked about,

insects populations or, you know water you know you know groundwater

contamination we're kind of missing the mark but I really do think there have been

some beautiful examples in our society of companies that were very conscious.
