Summary
I just turned 44, and we just had our second daughter. Double girl dad. Let's go.
This episode is a mix of life lessons, AI experiments, and some questionable investing decisions. I talk about what having a second kid taught me, why self-belief matters way more when revenue is down, and how getting older has made me care less about awards and more about meaning.
I also tested OpenClaw, gave it real access to my life, and asked it to tell me what to say on this podcast. It lied. Then it admitted it lied. Which honestly felt very human.
In this conversation you'll enjoy 3 BIG things:
-
What becoming a dad (again) is teaching me about fear, confidence, and second reps
-
Why picking the right partner and calling your parents might be the highest ROI decisions of your life
-
How to ignore hype cycles, invest in boring things, and zag when everyone else zigs
Enjoy these 3 things plus many nuggets along the way.
My book Million Dollar Weekend breaks down how to start a business in simple steps you can do in one weekend.
I also send brutally honest emails about business and life. Join 350k people reading them at noahkagan.com.

| 0:27.1 | sweet, juicy, delicious episode. So what we're going to talk about today, I'm just going to talk |
| 0:32.3 | about two separate things. Things I've learned around being 44, including being a dad. |
| 0:39.4 | And then secondly, you know, a lot of people are talking about open claw and so I asked open claw to tell me what to talk about to tell you and |
| 0:46.8 | it's actually surprising and it lied to me so I told it to tell me the truth and then that's what's |
| 0:51.1 | going to also be an episode and then lastly we'll just talk about some stupid investments'm making. I'm not going to be talking about Absumo in this episode, |
| 0:58.3 | but I will come back most likely in March talking about what's going on with Absumo. There's |
| 1:03.7 | been a lot of stuff that's happening with Absumo. And I think the big thing that's telling |
| 1:08.2 | someone earlier, the word I'm feeling with Absumo is frantic. |
| 1:12.0 | And so for all of us in a world of AI where jobs are lost, jobs are some gained, people |

| 1:34.6 | I'm being 44 years old around the planet. So I'm like halfway, what's the optimistic way thing |
| 1:40.2 | to say? I'm halfway experienced of being on this planet. Yeah, a few of these just kind of |
| 1:46.5 | stick out. I think in terms of the kid one as we started this episode, I remember with our first |
| 1:52.5 | daughter, I talked to everyone who had a kid. I was like, give me your advice and give me your advice. |
| 1:55.7 | And I remember being in the hospital just like had tea light candles and we were so nervous. I remember the first drive home with my first daughter. I was like, oh my God, I can't believe I'm driving. I can't believe I have a kid again. And then the second one I was like, yeah, just do autopilot. Hopefully we'll make it home. I think that's true for a lot of things in life where before we start a business, before we ask someone on a date, before we post something online, we could be very nervous. And then after you do it, then the second time, it's a lot easier. And I think that's just a good lesson for all of us. And I think with the second kid, it made me appreciate my first kid more. We're just giving her a lot of attention and love and huggles, |
| 2:35.2 | huggles, |
