Once we encounter alien intelligence superior to ours, we might have a sense of awe that is similar to traditional religions.

The second type of AI is alien intelligence. That's what I'm trying to find. Life should have started on Mars before it started on Earth.

And maybe it was transferred to Earth through rocks.

What Elon Musk wants to do going to Mars, in that case would be just like going back to our childhood home.

It's possible that life was seeded in the solar system from outside.

Instead of us spending millions to billions of years, traveling to other stars,

here we have objects that made that

trip. We better take advantage of that. My name is Avi Lobb, and I'm a professor of science at

Harvard University, the director of the Institute for Theory and Computation, and the head of the

Galileo project right now. And I used to have many other leadership positions over the past decade.

lots of conversations about, for example, 3i Atlas. In fact, if I'm correct, the time, the release

of this interview will coincide with 3i Atlas passing at its closest point to the earth.

So I think that's kind of exciting. But so I think most people who don't follow

this stuff would be surprised to find out that we've observed only three interstellar,

interstellar objects. We have the O Muamua, Borsov, and now Atlas. So can we talk a little bit

about that? Why is this, why are we only now beginning to see them?
