Hi everyone, welcome to shift a podcast about mobility. I'm Pete Bigelow reporter at the

Automotive News and joining me today is Leslie Allen our shift mobility editor. Hi Leslie

Hi Pete how are you doing today I'm doing great how about yourself I am doing

great and today we have a conversation that I think is going to be buzzing around water coolers all over the country.

We're going to be speaking today with Robbie Miller. So can you tell us a little bit

about Robbie and who he is and what he's going to tell us.

Yeah, Robbie Miller is the chief safety officer at Pronto,

Bay Area Company that is working on driver assist technology

for the trucking industry.

And Robbie has a long history in the kind of automated driving realm.

He's worked at Google, Auto, and Uber prior to his time at Pronto.

And it was at Uber, he kind of became well known as a

whistleblower who sent a letter to executives at the company outlining concerns about the safety culture and the self-driving

division that was just days before the tragic accident in Tempe, Arizona that

that killed a pedestrian.

you went to the scene of that accident. Can you tell us about your observations from that time?
