I'm John Batchew with my colleague and mentor Gregory Copley, Defense and Foreign Affairs,

simultaneous nearly two elections. One in Canada, in late in April, I believe, although it hasn't been called yet,

and one in Australia imminently. The two men who are running for, well, not quite re-election,

but to continue their party's dominance.

Mr. Albanese in Australia, who's notably a green candidate, and Mr. Carney in Canada,

who assumed the premiership after Justin Trudeau stepped aside, and Mr. Carney,

a central banker, not a politician, was elected by the Liberal Party to be the leader of the

party, making him automatically the PM of Canada.

However, I want to start in Australia because it's the least understood from my

point of view as an electioneering issue. Albanyzi has always represented himself as green.

The raging issue, according to the Australian papers, is the cost of living. I'm not sure these two

things go together. And the polls are indicating Mr. Albanese is struggling. Why so, Gregory?

Well, he is the leader of the Australian Labour Party. And the Labor Party right now is at war

with the Greens, which is another left-wing party, but both of them are, as you say, green

in the sense that they have staked everything on renewable energy

and dismantling the traditional fossil fuel energy base of, which is traditional in Australia.

The result is that Labor under Albanese, basically with the minority government and basically with the support of the

Greens, has continued to abandon traditional forms of energy and energy refining and so on in

Australia.

And as a result, the costs of energy have gone up dramatically to the point where the cost of everything

else has gone up, food, particularly transportation of all goods. So in other words, that raises
