Hey, good morning. I'm Playbook Co. Arthur Eugene Daniels. It is Monday, August 5th. There is one big story driving the day here in Washington, D.C., and really across the country. And that's all of us, waiting for Vice President Kamala Harris to choose a running mate for this election, where we have about 92 days to go.

There are a lot of moving pieces to this story.

It seems like it's changing every few hours.

So here to talk with me about the latest updates on where the Veeb sticks is our girl national political reporter Elena Schneider.

Hi, Gene. Thanks for having me.

This is what I know about how the weekend went.

Vice President Harris met with in person at least three of the guys that she's considering

and that she is going to take today, most of today, to make the decision, and that it's possible

that she would call them before, but that Tuesday looks like the real day. I guess you help

walk me through and walk the listeners through this weekend and kind of what we can expect

today and tomorrow. Okay. So even though it was, as you're right,

it was definitely quiet and thankfully so, because some of us spent most of Saturday at urgent care.

Oh my God. I feel like you might as well move into urgent care. You know what? Honestly, girl,

it's like my second home at this point. Nurses know me. The pediatrician know me. me. But yes, you're totally right.

It was a quiet weekend publicly, but it was certainly a busy one privately, as you hinted at.

So what we know based on our own reporting and what also has been out there is that they made the lawyers who were part of the vetting team,

including Eric Holder, made in-depth presentations to Harris on Saturday about what they found

in terms of their deep dive sort of apophile efforts in the last week.

And we know at least three of the candidates had 101 interviews with Harris at the Naval Observatory, her home, on Sunday.

So those final three, which we shouldn't say that we know for sure, just limited to those.

Nonetheless, those are the ones that have been reported that we can confirm.
