the Monterrey Peninsula. I'd like to welcome back to the show Jeff Olfs who has come to help me talk about

the Monterey Peninsula in California. Jeff, welcome back to the show.

Hi Chris, it's great to be back I love amateur traveler big fan.

Thank you and I say welcome back Jeff has been on the show talking about the state parks in California

and about Joshua Tree National Park where he used to be the chief

ranger, whatever the right term there is.

That's correct.

Okay. And I say help me talk about because that's an unusual introduction. We're talking about the

Monterrey Peninsula in California and I grew up just a stone's through from there in Salinas, California, which is the county seat of Monterey County.

So it's an area that I know pretty darn well, because I've been going there since I was

three and a half, but I don't like to talk about things without by myself so Jeff

volunteered to come help me talk about Monterrey and I'm gonna ask you first why do you

think someone ought to go to the Monterrey Peninsula?

Well, you and I love our history.

So there's a ton of history there.
