This week we've got a discussion with Jake Far Wharton of the Imaginary Friends show on the death penalty.

Of course, there was recently a case of a botched execution.

We discussed that, what it means for the death penalty, and also what it, how atheism or religion affects your view of the

death penalty and it goes a lot of different places and Jake is a very smart guy

and it's very fun so look forward to that. In the meantime though as usual we have

some commentary.

As I hope you've heard by now, Boca Haram has kidnapped nearly 300 female students and this happened nearly a month ago in Nigeria, which the time it's taken in itself is somewhat of a tragedy too.

Of course, just the other day day Michelle Obama took to the airwaves to get the word out about it and credit though, credit to Rebecca Watson for nearly two weeks ago did a video trying to get the word out about this

tragedy because it wasn't getting really any airtime.

So like I said, it happened on April 14th.

Rebecca Watson did a video on April 25th.

Michelle Obama's video was, I believe, a couple days ago, so like the seventh I believe so. So it's

taken a while. Now first I just need to say this is of course an absolute just

devastating tragedy.

Before I'm doing any sort of commentary, I just want to acknowledge that the first thought is this is awful.

I really wish there was something we could do about it it feels so

helpless to hear news like this and just have no recourse and I think that's where

a lot of the hashtag activism has been coming from.

I mean, just the idea that we can't do anything about it.

Fox News, in its Fox News way, of course was very critical of hashtag activism and suggested that instead of

tweeting about it we all really need to be doing is just Ben Gazi Ben Gazi
