As you may have heard, Donald has instituted a hostile takeover the Kennedy Center honors,

taking a wrecking ball to one of the premier arts institutions in this country,

which seems kind of niche and gratuitous even for him.

In response, on March 5, 2025, the musical Hamilton canceled its Kennedy Center run. Hamilton's creator, Lynn Manuel

Miranda, said, quote, we're not going to be a part of it while it is the Trump Kennedy Center.

The Kennedy Center will no longer be the room where it happens when it comes to the musical Hamilton.

Members of the Broadway smash hit were supposed to perform next year

as part of the Kennedy Center's celebration of the 250th anniversary

of the Declaration of Independence.

But it's canceling those plans.

Earlier this year, the president fired the board, named himself the chairman, and appointed a new board.

The show joins other artists and events that have announced cancellations at the Kennedy Center.

Other artists like Issa Rae and Riannon Giddens are also dissenting themselves from the institution.

Expect more of the same in the future.

All of this is in reaction to Donald's illegal removal of Democratic board members, after which he appointed himself the chairman of an institution he neither understands nor cares anything about.
