here in New York City, I'm Chuck Todd.

This is the Chuck Todd cast.

We're just days after House Democrats announced to charges that they're officially going to

be bringing against the president.

The Attorney General William Barr, he put his stamp of approval on Trump's version of

events, calling the impeachment probe a bogus narrative.

And today the Senate hearing on the Inspector General Report, we saw more conflicting narratives.

Republicans are following the president's lead.

They're crying foul at the FBI's handling of the investigation into the Trump campaign,

calling the report a stunning indictment of the FBI and Justice Department.

Now to be clear, while the IG report did find evidence that the FBI mishandled certain

aspects of the FISA warrants that they got for the investigation, it did not find evidence

that supports the president's claim that the opening of the investigation was politically

motivated.

Does leave open the possibility of unexplained reasons for why it was so sloppy on the

FISA side of things?

Then of course, there's been 2020.

There's been a lot more shakeup going on there, but there's a really big question I have

for my guests later that we'll talk about, which is simply this.

As we're talking about impeachment, does Elizabeth Warren's and Pete Buttigieg's previous

career seem small potatoes in comparison?
