I am your host, Danny Ford's in the West Coast correspondent for the Sunday Times, and this week we're talking about electric cars.

So, as previously covered on this pod, the world is aw wash in electric vehicle startups. There are literally

hundreds of them. And each of them are promising that they are going to be the ones that

change the world. They are going to be the ones to kind of emerge from the scrum. And of course,

most won't make it. It's a tough, tough business. But last week, I met one company that's very interesting, and it's based in Britain.

They've raised a boatload of money, more than a billion dollars, and they went public last year,

and they pioneered an entirely new way to make cars.

So it's a big swing.

It's very audacious.

And the name of the company is a rival.

And they were in San Francisco earlier this month to show off their new ride hailing prototype,

which kind of looks like a more futuristic black cab for our British listeners or for our American friends,

kind of like a new age minivan.

Anyhow, I got to check it out.
