In 2019, Germany processed 165,615 asylum applications. France processed 128,940. Spain, 117,795, and Greece, which you'll remember is is or has been for the best part of a decade, on its

knees in economic terms, processed 77,275. The fifth largest economy in the world, the UK,

processed just shy of 45,000. So some 80,000 plus fewer than France, which, of course, adds an interesting
