Let's start with the Middle East, where the ceasefire that was agreed between the US, Israel and Iran looks increasingly shaky.

Tehran has accused Israel of violating the deal by continuing to strike

Lebanon. Hundreds of people killed there yesterday and overnight. The US Vice President

J.D. Vance tried to give an explanation for the confusion. I think this comes from a legitimate

misunderstanding. I think the Iranians thought that the ceasefire included Lebanon and it just didn't.

We never made that promise. We never indicated that was going to be the case.

What we said is that the ceasefire would be focused on Iran and the ceasefire would be focused on America's allies,

both Israel and the Gulf Arab states.

Well, Britain, France and Australia are among the countries that was had the ceasefire should extend to Lebanon.

Cindy, this sounds like, I'm just going to say the word bull, and you can imagine the rest of it yourself. But come on. What, the Iranians were under a sort of under the impression extended to Lebanon. The Americans didn't know they were under that impression. And they all just, oh, what a terrible misunderstanding. This is just this nonsense. You think that they promised it, but are now saying that they didn't.

Well, I mean, who knows? Well, it's possible, but it is also possible that it's just the total cock-up in considering how hard communications are between the two sides at the moment. I think some intelligence have been saying that it takes about a day for messages to get them back and they don't really know who they're talking to, having killed basically, most of the

leaders of Iran. China's meant to be playing some kind of intermediary role

here as well. So you can imagine how these messages get lost in translation and especially after

Trump's tweet, genocidal tweet about ending a civilization. I think that was of such a ticking clock and

about worry about what he might do that they probably just wanted to agree something.
