Hi guys, it's Rachel and this is a quick word on how to be the best.

It's really hard to get someone to fix your stove or your oven or your freezer.

I know because all three of these things have broken in my house in the last 18 months

and in that time when something breaks because I don't know how to fix an oven or a stove

or a freezer, I have called local repair people and something has changed since COVID.

I don't know if you feel like this in your neck of the woods or wherever you find yourself

listening to this episode, but it feels different now.

It's harder to get someone to call you back.

It's harder to get a return email.

I cannot tell you how many times I've made an appointment for a repair person to come and

they literally just don't show up.

Like confirm the day before and they don't show up.

And you're at the whim of people who want to show up or not and I can't even get mad

because if you're the only stove repair guy in town, I just sort of polite we say like,

okay, when can you come?

And obviously we're fine and we made it through but not having a workable stove for a while

when you have four kids is man, we grilled a lot of things.

Like did I make eggs on the bar?

Yeah, I figured out how to do that.

I know how to make eggs in the microwave now.

It has sort of stacked and I feel like maybe I'm hyper aware of it because it's happened

to me a ton, but I'm noticing this kind of everywhere I go.
