MayOS 2025 winds down.

It's time for our Apple year in review, just bouncing back through all of the months of 2025.

The whirlwind of the Apple news cycle.

Some months more interesting than others.

But our list here is decently long, I think.

Yeah, I mean, some years we do it organized by product line rather than by

month, but as I was getting the note together this time, I was like, I think there's enough to do it by

month. And some products got ignored this year, right? So going by month, basically, I just kind of

look back through the year and found the best, the most prominent headlines from different months and kind of strung it together. And as always, sometimes when you're in the middle of the doldrums of August or something, it feels lacking. But then when you go back and you add it all up, it's like, wow, stuff happens all the time. I was looking at August in particular. I was like, how did we make four happy hour episodes out of these two things? Well, because also for these year in reviews, I focus on news, right? Whereas I guess in August we do more like opinions or reviews of random stuff. And the stuff that isn't included here is like all the different changes through all the betas, right? That's true. That takes up a lot of time for us in the summer months, checking all the beta changes out, which you don't really get to in this year of view.

It could be silly to re-remember what change between each individual beta.

So we just kind of cover the software stuff in WWC, probably.

And it's also a good opportunity to look back at some of the rumors that came up throughout the year.

And that's what we start January with, which was Mark German reporting on Apple's plans to make a smart doorbell. Nothing has come to

fruition about that, but it's been corroborated by Ming Chi Quo, I think. And there's some

model numbers that have popped up in recent leaks that may or may not reference the smart

doorbell. I continue to think that this is may not reference the smart doorbell.

I continue to think that this is absolutely a market Apple should be in, and especially if they can do something unique with face ID or ultra wideband or something in those categories, I think

there's plenty of room for Apple in this market.

Yeah, definitely. It would just be a smaller accessory, right?

Like, joining the Homeport family.

But I think the underpinnings of the Smart Door Specifics is an ongoing interest in expanding

their smart home hardware business overall.
