Summary

Often at the beginning of a new year we are bombarded with the messaging that we need to change our bodies in a very specific way. I want to dive into that a little bit today, but know that this is not an episode about loving or accepting our bodies. I am being very honest about my current struggles as I'm heavily pregnant and just getting older. And I don't necessarily have a magic recipe for dealing with this, but I do have a mantra that I tell myself that settles my thoughts just enough: BODIES CHANGE. In this bite-sized episode I'm sharing some more vulnerable thoughts so that you realize that you don't have to feel so alone. You don't have to carry the weight of the pressures you're facing anymore. a new year, we're going to get all the ads and challenges being run, whether they're

publicly or just within our neighborhoods, our families and our friend groups, and it's

called a change, but to change in a very specific way.

They want you to change your body.

Now this isn't a very specific way though.

They want your body to be stronger, bitter, more flexible, but most of the time the message

is that smaller is better and tighter is best.

Now I'm going to say right off the bat, I'm not stupid.

Our health really matters.

I know this personally, of course, but I also know this thanks to the many women I've

coached over the years, whose biggest struggles connect back to health, and I just want

to point out here too.

I also think what we choose to do with our bodies, whether it's cosmetically or otherwise,

is still very nuanced and personal that there's not this like single standard of rightness

about what we do with these pressures that we have to change our bodies.

What I do resist though are the expectations that not only should I want to, want to always

change my body and keep it younger and fitter and tighter, but to do so in ways that can
