So how are you feeling?

Most of us are glued to the news.

We're watching what's going on and what's happening,

and it's easy to feel a sense of fear and panic and dread and despair as we see what's going on. How should we react? That's what I want

us to talk about today is what do we do we do we gear up? Is it time for the whole world to go to

war? Do we send our boys over to engage in this conflict or is there a method of handling these kinds of conflicts that we can learn from history and from the principles that our founding fathers understood and just encapsulated here in this monument that we can learn from to know how to deal with the present crisis right now?

So, Marshall, in one way, we've not been in this kind of a situation in the last, how long? 50 years?

100 years?

Well, not 100 years.

Well, 75 years ago, as we were ending World War II.

That's right.

And in other ways, we have been here before.

We've been in this kind of a position as freedom-loving

members of the family of faith all throughout history. And we can learn lessons from this that are

going to help us right now. So when have we been in this kind of a position before in the United

States? Well, several times. And so I think it's good for us before we deal with the issue of what we should do in our present crisis, we need to go back

and lay the background as to what has been going on in the past and how has God used situations

like this, especially with war, with famine, with economic depression, all of which we're kind of facing today,

and potential pandemics that could spread.

In the midst of it, as we talk about in the American Covenant, in the appendix, we have an appendix that goes through the great awakenings in America.
