Summary

How should we, as the family of faith, be responding to the things the U.S. government tells us or wants from us? For many Christians, this is a difficult question to answer, as there are passages in the Bible that say we must be obedient to the government because God has ordained it. Even still, we must be careful listening to people in powerful positions in government who don’t know who God is, and don’t know what He has been doing for His people throughout history. Followers of Christ are not meant to be complacent and obedient to secular government, but are meant to be salt and light to a fallen world. It is our challenge to balance our perspective, always seeking peace and blessing by God. Change begins at the local, grassroots level, which is where the family of faith has an obligation and a calling to stand against tyrannical power. The more that our world reflects the Kingdom of heaven, the more we will see lasting liberty in place of short-term victories. 0:50.5	do they have? And how should we as the family of faith be responding to those things?

0:58.1	So let's pray and ask the God of heaven for his blessing on our time tonight.
1:04.5	Dear God, we thank you for your sovereignty.
1:08.4	We thank you for your faithful love. I thank you, Lord, that you
1:12.1	you don't always treat us according to our sins. But when we come to you in humility and repentance,
1:17.2	you're kind and gracious and merciful and you you show us grace. Dear God, we are such desperate
1:25.9	need of your mercy right now.
1:28.7	Do God, give us wisdom?
1:30.8	We ask for wisdom for our leaders.
1:33.4	We ask for courage, for our people, and for those who are in peril right now.
1:41.0	God, we pray that you stop the plans of the enemies of heaven and that you would protect
