Summary

Every now and then we bring on an anonymous guest as a way of showing listeners how I work with clients and what shadow work looks like in real-time. These are raw, intense episodes, and this one was no exception. So, I want to take this space to express my honor and gratitude for our guest feeling safe enough to let me work with her. Thank you. I appreciate you. If you or someone you know is interested in being an anonymous guest, or if you’ve got questions, let me know on Instagram @mantalks.  Did you enjoy the podcast? into some of the work that needed to be done.

0:40.2

So we talk about the mother-daughter dynamic and the mother wound that can come out of that.

0:47.9

We talk about divorce and separation.

0:51.4

We dive into having to play a sort of parentified role and taking on the role of

0:57.8

being a parent to a father, someone dealing with alcoholism. And in some ways, we talk about

1:07.4

neglect and abandonment and the experience that many children, many people that have

1:13.8

grown up into adults experience being abandoned as a child, feeling neglected and unable to

1:21.5

get the attachment and the love and the support that we need as children children and so we get into a little bit of

1:28.5

attachment styles here and what comes from being in an environment where our needs are not

1:34.4

prioritized and where we have had to sacrifice our own needs our own wants to tend to the needs

1:41.2

and wants of others we also talk about a hypercritical parent being the mother in this case.

1:47.2

And so there's a lot of good stuff that can come from this conversation. So I hope that you enjoy. Let me know,

1:54.0

either by messaging me on Instagram or whatever platform you prefer, how you enjoyed this episode.

2:00.6

And what questions you have or

2:03.1

what really resonated with you. Don't forget to share it. And feel free to leave me a rating

2:09.3

and a review. It goes a long way in getting us onto the phones and into the years of other people.
