Well, listeners to our podcast will know that every couple of months, we have a screening at the Fox Cinema here in Toronto in the East End, in the beautiful beaches neighborhood.

It's called Important Cinema Club Masterpiece Classics.

The Fox has been incredibly nice to us.

They let us pick whatever we want.

Yeah, they've never been like, I don't know if that's very commercial or.

It's absolutely insane.

And we try to repay the favor by showing movies that

we think people will like and uh boy have we got a movie for you now you know horror films you

know bollywood horror films yeah i i'm playing the the common man here see i just screwed that up

because i was going to say you know horror films, you know Bollywood films.

But do you know Bollywood horror films? What? No. That's right. Again, I'm the common man. Well, what if I told you that there was a filmmaking dynasty who operated in India in the 80s and 90s called the Ramsey Brothers? Actually, it was the Ramsey family. Yeah. The whole family of like seven members would do various tasks on these movies.

But it was the brothers, Tulsi and Shyam, who were the

otours of this, of this franchise. They made a whole bunch of, you know, they brought horror

films to India, basically. They basically created their own genre in India. Yeah. And they pushed

the envelope for what was

seeable on screen, a lot of gore, a lot of violence, just a lot of gooey mayhem, stuff that you

never normally saw in Indian film. You know, the film industry was quite censorious. And they did

this by serving underserved audiences. As Tulsi Ramsey said in an interview, places where even the trains don't stop, that's where our business was.

And we are showing one of their crowning achievements, maybe their crowning achievement, the one that Tulsi and Shyam, Ramsey fans consistently say is the best one.
