Hello, my name is Justin McClue, and I'm here today with

0:07.8

Well Slown, and you're listening to The Important Cinema Club.

0:11.6

And today, we are talking about filmmaker Tim Kincaid, probably better known for his work that

0:18.8

he did under the name Joe Gage. And we have a very special

0:23.3

guest today, probably a first four important cinema club. We have someone that worked with

0:29.3

the director that we're discussing. Connor Habib, thank you very much for joining. Hi, guys.

0:34.0

I'm very happy to be here. Connor Habib, prolific adult film performer, also

0:38.3

prolific writer. His podcast is against everyone with Connor Habib. As Justin said, you're the first

0:44.1

actor who acted in some of the films that we've had on. I'm so glad it's you and I'm so glad

0:49.0

as this filmmaker. Thank you. Thanks. Now, Connor, just to do like a flash forward and then a flashback of like, you're probably wondering how I got here. When you started working with Tim, were you aware of his work as a filmmaker at that point? He just reached out, you know, I mean, this is how these things would happen. You'd be in porn, which I was for a few years at that point. And this is now over 10 years ago,

1:11.6

since I've made any movies. But it was like, he would just reach out as directors would do

1:16.8

because they all kind of shared their actor pools at the time. And it was really exciting

1:21.2

because, yeah, everybody knew who he was. And he was making kind of a comeback in terms of

1:27.0

visibility around the time that he reached out

1:29.2

to me he had done stuff in between the classic films that he was most known for which are some

1:34.6

the ones I know we're going to talk about today but he started having this sort of resurgence

1:39.1

and popularity around that time and it was just kind of a cold email like hey do you want to do

1:43.6

but yes of course.

1:45.9

So you were aware of like his earlier films. So and like when you look up the films of Joe

1:50.0

Gage, you'll find article after article of people being like, these are some of the best gay porn films

1:54.8

ever made. Definitely. And so like when you were called up by him and you went work with him,

1:58.8

was there like a level of intimidation? Not really. I mean, you stop kind of being intimidated by stuff after you do about, you know, like 20 gay porn, you know, it's just not quite the world doesn't have the capability of flustering you quite so much anymore. There wasn't like, oh man, is he going to be like super artistic like he was in those early films?
